Designed and developed a web portal modernization effort. The portal was built using legacy web technologies and was data intensive. Key challenges addressed:
- Data intensive web tables. Ability to filter data within the web tables and still maintain the modern Web 2.0 look and feel and features.
- Ability to download the data from web tables in the CSV format for offline viewing or further analysis.
- Ability to drill down from within the data tables.
- Provide graphical representation of the data in the tables with drill down capabilities.
- Be able to support multiple devices without any dependency on third party software.
- User specific personalization at various levels including web parts, data tables, charts, etc.
- Be able to display geographical data on a graphical map with the ability to click through to get to details.

- Standards based web interface framework utilizing technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JQuery.
- All web tables were converted into Web 2.0 rich tables utilizing jqGrid plugin for JQuery. Following key features were implemented:
- Sorting, filtering and re-arranging of columns
- Adding or removing columns based on user preference
- Ability to download table / grid data into CSV format
- Ability to restrict functionality available in the grid based on user permissions
- Ajax based server interaction for data exchange enabling smoother user experience.
- No third party software required and the portal was accessible on mobile devices and tablets including iPads. Biggest win was the iPad access since majority of the users work on the floors and now could see and update data in real-time.
- Most of the tables were now accompanied by graphical chart(s) making a data intensive page look more appealing and readable.

A financial services company specializing in insurance broker services related to employee benefits wanted to make the transition from an entirely paper based organization for all policy related documents to an electronic document imaging solution. The key goal was to provide online access for Brokers to view their Case Documents via a Website and send them an Email Notification on the recent documents uploaded. |
- Reduced call-center requests, created a more consistent relationship with the Broker and addressed one of the top Broker Survey items.
- Progressively eliminted storage costs, including those related to filing, boxing, shipping, and special retrieval requests from hard-copy storage facilities.
- Automated workflow for extended functionality to improve consistency, timing, and completeness of operational activities.
- Implemented performance management reporting for enhanced resource support, including productivity monitoring and resource leveling.
